So as now sit writing this update I count there are 29 hours from to go before the preliminary rounds of the mens squirt kayak tomorrow.  Sometimes 29 hours can feel like an eternity, but as I look at my watch I see the seconds, minutes and hours ticking by drawing me inevitably closer to the time when I have to take to the water I know it is not far off.  I don’t know if i should be feeling nervous or excited but in truth I think it is a mix of both.  I feel prepared and after a productive but short training session this morning and with the same again scheduled for later I think I am as ready as I will ever be. 

Water levels are fluctuating with the weather, and after a few days of cold rain the water level has risen dramatically from around 160cm on Wednesday to well over 220cm today.  Hopefully the sun will come back out and we will get good weather for the competition.
